Sick Diversion

You’ve got the key to the lock
You’ve opened Pandora’s box
You’re exploring a liberated zone
Making a claim, to own
Territory draws
You’re going for all the gold
Not realizing
You’re drying out Pandora
While you soak up all its oil
Pandora’s meant to be a giver treated gently by visitors
But the greedy can’t see value in all of her beauty
The prize that appeases the eye deceives the mind: you’ve gotten all of everything
When in reality, you’ve missed it completely
The opportunity to release the abuse to feel the love
That you never knew how to give, or receive in turn
You’ve missed your opportunity to evolve
Instead you plot like an eagle on your prey
You devour it without experiencing the taste
You crushed a sweet butterfly on the way…
You denied yourself the true destiny of Pandora’s true trait
You tried to define its limitless ways
In prison freedom, in an odd kind of way
You almost crushed it completely
But love never goes away
You can ignore it
You can hide it
You can flee
But that energy moving deep down inside
Is waiting on change
It’s waiting on metamorphosis to take place
For love to stake claim

Women’s march. January 21, 2017. Cincinnati, Ohio.

According to…

Pandora’s Box (in culture):

In classical mythology, a box that Zeus gave to Pandora, the first woman, with strict instructions that she not open it. Pandora’s curiosity soon got the better of her, and she opened the box. All the evils and miseries of the world flew out to afflict mankind.

Pandora’s Box (noun): a source of extensive but unforeseen troubles or problems:

It’s not about believing in everything that women do or don’t. It’s believing that they should have the freedom to believe in their beliefs in our democracy.

It constantly wears on me the constant endless attempt people have on trying to define things that were never designed to see limits before or after the sky. And the concrete things… The concrete things that God gracefully blessed us undeserving-ly with are not only loosely redefined, but shamed, thrown away, and used as never intended. And if you’re unable to understand what my heart is propelling in this post. I just pray that one day love, hope, and peace enter into your life as they have surrounded me, always.

All that to say, through my eyes, Pandora’s box isn’t meant to inflict pain, but if not properly handled it will bring disdain. People are spoiled in their often instantly gratified life but wouldn’t it be worthwhile seeing something past just the pleasure of just one moment.

The resistance will be blogged.
